Horseback archery competitions require more than just good technique.
Riders must find the right rhythm between horse, bow and body. Small adjustments in balance, timing or focus can make the difference between a good run and a great one.
The Pre-Competition Training Camp at Ranch Kuulas is designed to help riders make those final adjustments before the Midnight Sun Battle.
Over two days, participants train with Anni Jauhiainen, one of Europe’s most experienced horseback archers and coaches. Sessions include mounted archery practice on the ranch’s Tower and Raid tracks as well as ground archery exercises to refine shooting technique.
The training environment is calm and supportive. Riders receive individual feedback and can repeat exercises to build consistency and confidence before the competition.
The Arctic summer offers nearly endless daylight, allowing relaxed training sessions without time pressure. Between sessions, participants can enjoy the peaceful ranch surroundings, rest or watch the horses in the pasture.
Meals are served at Restaurant Loimu, the heart of Ranch Kuulas, where riders gather to share experiences and prepare mentally for the upcoming competition.
This camp is not about learning horseback archery from the beginning.
It is about stepping into competition ready.
